The yam is a very popular and widely consumed nourishing tubercule in the world. And a staple food in many countries in South America, Central and North Africa, in the Pacific Islands, in the Western Indies. In Brazil, the northeast region is the largest producer and consumerist.

Rich in firbers and vitaminis A, C, Betacatotene and B Complex besides mineral salts, potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and copper, the yam is very beneficial to health.

Its fibers reduce the levels of cholesterol in the blood, helping to prevent heart disease and potassium, in the control of  hypertension.

It´s antioxidante compounds betacarotene and vitamin help to prevent the most varied types of cancer and, because it is a source of diosgenin and vitamins B6 and B9, is a great food to help control and prevent Alzheimer´s.

It also has phytoestrogens and vegetal hormones that help in the fertility of women, alleviate symptoms of PMS and menopause and stimulate libido.

It is an excelente ally for those who want to lose weight, contains little fat and their fibers promote satiety sensation. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help the body to eliminate toxins, liquids and cellulitis.

 

FARM

Our farms are located in the citiies of Barra de Guabiraba and Sairé, state of Pernambuco – northeast of Brazil. It´s the second largest region producing yam and yam cush cush of Brazil.

We are always concerned with the environment, we use modern sustainable cultivation techniques, guaranteeing an excelente quality end product for your daily  meals.
